Looking for a quick and cosy knitting project? This simple twisted headband is a lovely make for chilly days and a great way to use up some of your favourite yarn. With its stylish twist at the front, it looks more complicated than it really is! In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to knit your own soft, comfortable headband step by step - perfect for beginners or a relaxing weekend project.
Step 1:
Lay the piece of knitting on a flat surface, right side up.
Step 2:
Fold the piece of knitting in half lengthways (right sides together) and bring the ends together. Twist one end by 180 degrees. Slot the ‘v’ at one end of the headband into the ‘v’ at the other end of the headband, creating four layers of fabric.
Step 3:
Sew the four layers together making sure to catch each layer. Sew in ends.
Step 4:
Turn right side out. And voilà! A nifty, simple knotted twist to add a sophisticated and chic touch to a headband.
