I’m a beginner knitter will I manage to tackle this project?

The good news is that there are only knit and purl stitches in the pattern so it’s nice and straightforward. But if you’ve not discovered the joy of colour work this may at first seem a bit challenging. Check out our Learn articles on Intarsia and Colour Stranded Knitting.

Are the patterns difficult to read or understand?

Being just knit and purl stitch, the patterns are easy to understand. All you have to do is pay attention to colour - this is where the chart comes in handy, so that you can visually see what is coming next! We also supply a traditional a written pattern, and we find most people like to use both when following the pattern!

What kind of photo should I upload?

We recommend using a high-quality photo, with plenty of light and dark contrast and the face is in focus. Upload JPEG and PNG from your local files to Google drive.

Can I upload photos of celebrities or company logos?

We cannot accept images of company logos or other symbols and subjects without prior agreement. We reserve the right to decline to use your image if it is unsuitable for our process. For copyright purposes, we require you to ensure you have the right to upload any images you submit.

Is it only for faces of people and pets?

We have found that faces work best. We can make patterns for any image, but ensure the subject is big and distinctive.

How long does it take?

After you have uploaded your image and completed payment, our artists will start work on your pattern. We may be in touch if your image isn't suitable and ask for and alternative or make any clarifications before starting, for example, we may need to move two faces closer together. Any major changes you will be asked for approval before we start the pattern. Making the pattern can take some time which is why we ask for up to 10 working days to complete...usually patterns are completed and sent out to you much sooner than this. We make every effort to fulfill orders as quickly as possible.

Do you give refunds?

No. Because the Photo Pattern is personalised and custom-made, legally we are not required to offer a refund, even if you change your mind about the order. If the item is faulty, not as described or does not do what it’s supposed to please get in touch and we will either send a replacement or issue a refund.
